Chamoli (Uttarakhand), Jun 20 (ANI): Topping the list of hikers worldwide, Roopkund has been witnessing increased footfall. However, Uttarakhand High Court's ruling to stop camping at surreal Bedni Bugyal meadow has impacted the adventurous trek. With restrictions, trekkers have to cover a steep terrain with challenging weather and slippery snow patches to reach all the way to the mysterious Roopkund Lake filled with skeletons. The span of over 10 km to reach Roopkund from last camping area Gharoli Patal and come all the way back is almost impossible and exhausting for amateur and inexperienced trekkers. Expert guide Dhanu Singh explained about the challenges of trek. The trek starts from Garhwali hamlet of Wan. Before Wan, Lohajung is the base camp for all the needs. The scenic trek is a must for adventure lovers who are up for a challenging journey.
