Amritsar (Punjab), May 24 (ANI): Jallianwala Bagh unfolds one of the most infamous massacres in Indian history and a dark event during the Indian independence struggle. Jallianwala Bagh Kand, also known as Amritsar massacre, witnessed the death of 1100 peaceful protesters, who were killed when British troops opened fire on April 13, 1919. There is a well inside the park into which many people jumped to save their lives from the firing. Portion of the wall with bullet marks along with the well is preserved as a memorial. A light and sound show is hosted every evening that narrates the events in Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan’s voice. The show recreates the events that took place in the year 1919. The show is quite interesting and stirring experience.
