Hyderabad, March 16 (ANI): AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi on March 15 slammed Centre for implementing the Citizenship Amendment Act. Addressing a gathering, Owaisi said, “Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said the 12 lakh Hindus listed in the NRC conducted in the state will be given Indian citizenship under CAA, but what about the 1.5 lakh Muslims? People are saying nothing is going to happen immediately. I want to tell them, that things take time to unfold. Home Minister Amit Shah named me when he said NPR and NRC will also be implemented. The government must give citizenship to people who come from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh, but not based on religion.”
