World’s tallest statue draws global tourists

In 2018, PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the Statue of Unity, a 182-meter tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the world’s tallest statue and now a global tourist magnet. The site has evolved into a vibrant tourist hub with attractions like Ekta Nursery and dazzling laser shows. Local tribal women, driving pink electric autos, are finding steady jobs and financial independence, while eco-friendly e-carts ferry visitors, creating sustainable livelihoods for local drivers. Blending heritage, tourism, and empowerment, the Statue of Unity stands as a symbol of India’s pride, sustainable development, and inclusive growth—uplifting communities while drawing visitors from across the world.
