With shelters, alternate polling stations, J&K’s Poonch ready with contingency plan for voting

Poonch, May 18 (ANI): Amid terror threats and tensions in J&K, administration has made special arrangements for Lok Sabha Polls 2024. Arrangements are being made to conduct peaceful voting, days after ambush attack on IAF convoy on May 4. Earlier this month, an IAF convoy was attacked in Poonch by terrorists, which claimed life of an officer. Keeping in mind possibility of cross-border firing amid polls, immediate shelters have been created in school bunkers. Alternate polling stations have also been designated to continue with polling in case of attacks. Poonch, which falls under Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha constituency will vote on May 25, sixth phase. Notably, the 5 Lok Sabha Constituencies in J&K are undergoing polls in five phases.
