Sonamarg (J&K), February 10 (ANI): Established in 1983, the Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports became a cornerstone of adventure and skill development in India. Currently, JIM and WS are hosting skiing courses in Sonamarg: The Basic Course and Intermediate Course with 69 and 23 respectively. Participants hail from diverse regions such as Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Tripura, among others. These courses are offered at a subsidized rate, with government departments covering 75% of the expenses. Offering stunning vistas of snow-capped peaks and verdant valleys, the skiing season typically spans from December to March. Additionally, Sonamarg’s pristine natural beauty adds to the allure, providing an unforgettable experience amidst the splendor of the Himalayas.
