Jammu (J&K), July 31 (ANI): In a landmark decision, the Administrative Council, chaired by Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha in Srinagar, has approved the conferment of proprietary rights upon West Pakistan Displaced Persons and Displaced Persons of 1965. West Pakistani refugees celebrated after getting property rights in J&K on July 31. This historic move ends the long-standing discrimination against West Pakistan Displaced Persons by granting them ownership rights on State land. The conferment of proprietary rights aligns with Displaced Persons of PoK, addressing their long-pending demands. West Pakistani Refugees, who had already been granted the right to vote and government jobs, now celebrating the fulfillment of their right to property. This judgement marked a significant milestone in their struggle for equality and justice.
