Week-long badminton tournament against drug use concludes in J&K’s Udhampur

Udhampur (J&K), August 10 (ANI): A week-long tournament, held from July 30th to August 7th at Subhash Stadium, concluded with an exciting final that featured over 400 participants competing for the top prize. Organized under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the event was a joint effort by the District Administration, Social Welfare, and Youth Services & Sports departments. It aimed to inspire youth through sports and advocate for a drug-free society. The tournament highlighted the skills of young badminton players and saw fierce competition throughout the week. The closing ceremony, held at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Udhampur, turned into a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship and community spirit with Senior Superintendent of Police Joginder Singh as the chief guest. The event also saw the presence of dignitaries such as Additional Deputy Commissioner Joginder Singh Jasrotia and District Social Welfare Officer Kanika Gupta. During the event, prizes and certificates were awarded to the winning players and Participants by the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour. The tournament aimed to promote a drug-free society through sports and healthy activities.
