“We want justice…” Manipur students demand resignation of officials as tension simmers in state

Imphal (Manipur) September 10 (ANI): Manipur students stand firm on their demand of resignation of top state and police officials as tension simmers. Angry students in large numbers again marched towards Raj Bhavan in Manipur on Sept 10. The students who staged protest outside Raj Bhavan on Sept 09 stayed back at IMA market waiting for reply from Guv. The students said that if no reply is received from the Governor, they would organise a march again. The students have taken to the streets to protest against the current situation in violence-hit Manipur. Angry students are demanding resignation of Governor, DGP, Security Advisor amid recent violence. The students also demanded the withdrawal of the paramilitary forces, the resignation of 50 MLAs on moral grounds. Recently, Kuki militants fired long-range rockets in civilian areas, killing a man & injuring 6 others in Bishnupur.
