Mumbai/Chennai, April 14, 2025 (ANI): On fugitive Mehul Choksi's arrest in Belgium, Vaibhav Khuraniya, complainant against Mehul Choksi in Chennai, said, "I just hope, although I don't think it's going to work out. Since they couldn't get Vijay Mallya for so long, I don't think he can be brought back to India so easily because there are so many legalities which are involved. I suppose, he has carried this kind of fraud across the world. He has been selling very low-quality diamonds at exceptionally high rates. Probably, that's why even Nirav Modi is in jail... Once he comes back to India, only after that I will be a little more hopeful..." Santosh Srivastava, Former MD, Geetanjali & one of the whistleblower on Mehul Choksi arrest said, “I was the whistleblower who complained about a suspected fraud in the company. This is very good news that he is detained or arrested in Belgium. I would like to request our government and agencies that he should be brought to India as soon as possible and put through the process of law, and whatever is the taxpayer's money which he defrauded should be recovered from him..."
