Village to Digital Care: Gujarat Doctor’s App Boosts Treatment via WhatsApp Alerts

Dr. Sachin Udesh, a medical officer in Ghoba village, Savarkundla, Gujarat, is transforming rural healthcare under the Ayushman Arogya Mandir scheme. Addressing the rise of non-communicable diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and heart ailments, he developed the NCD Follow-Up Application. The app maintains digital patient records, tracks follow-ups, and sends timely alerts to ensure treatment adherence. For patients unable to visit the clinic, Dr. Udesh and his team monitor health via the app and conduct home visits. This initiative brings healthcare directly to villagers’ doorsteps, ensuring continuous and timely care. The project exemplifies how technology can strengthen rural healthcare, aligning with India’s Digital India vision and promoting better management of chronic diseases.
