The rescue teams in Uttarakhand are battling against time to evacuate 40 trapped workers at Silkyara tunnel, Uttarkashi. The rescue operation to save trapped workers at Silkyara tunnel continues for the seventh day. The construction workers have been trapped in debris for more than 170 hours, which has raised serious concerns about their health and well-being. Meanwhile, the Indian Army stepped into the rescue operation on Nov 18 and was given the responsibility of making a track to the top of the hill. Indian Army started the work to build a platform to start vertical drilling to reach out to trapped workers through vertical drilling. However, the drilling will start once the construction of the track is completed.
