Kolkata, August 29 (ANI): In its big step on RG Kar case, the Indian Medical Association on Aug 28 suspended membership Dr Sandip Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The development came amid a CBI probe into the alleged rape and murder of a Kolkata’s trainee doctor earlier this month. The disciplinary committee of the IMA issued a statement saying “it has unanimously decided to suspend Ghosh forthwith from the membership of IMA”. Earlier on Aug 26, the CBI concluded a second round of polygraph test on Sandip Ghosh as part of their investigation. The investigation was initiated after a single bench of the High Court ordered the CBI to probe the alleged corruption at the medical college. The investigation agency has also interrogated nursing staffs, ward boy and security guards working at RG Kar Hospital. CBI has intensified investigation as protests over horrific rape-murder of ‘Abhaya’ have erupted across India. Notably, the trainee doctor was found dead in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on August 9.
