It shared its coordinates with the Iranian authorities. Earlier on May 19, a helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi made a rough landing, reported state TV. Iranian state media earlier reported that the incident occurred near Jolfa in Iran’s East Azerbaijan province. President Raisi was returning from a ceremony to open a dam on Iran’s border with Azerbaijan when his helicopter crashed. Iranian state media reported that bad weather was the cause of the crash and was complicating rescue efforts. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s condition was unclear, according to state news reports, which also aired prayers for his safety
