Kharkiv (Ukraine) January 05 (ANI): Ukrainian soldiers fighting in the Kharkiv region expressed on Friday (January 3) hopes for the U.S. President-elect’s ‘common sense’ to prevail and of continued American support to Ukraine’s fight against Russia. “We must stop them now and here, during this ‘hot’ phase of the war. If we don’t hold them, I think that European countries won’t hold them (Russians) neither,” said ‘Mozart’, 39, who has been in the army since 2014. It was a first combat mission for 43-year-old mobilized soldier from Kharkiv who uses call-sign ‘Humi’. His commander covered Humi’s face with dust from empty shells as part of the initiation rite. Humi, whose family came back to Kharkiv after staying in Israel for two years, said it was vital that Russian forces were not allowed to control more Ukrainian land, saying it would be very difficult to push them back once they had been entrenched.
