Trump appoints Cheung as White House Comm director, Sergio to lead Presidential Personnel Office

New Delhi, November 16 (ANI): Amid portfolio allocation ahead of regime change in Jan 2025, President-elect Trump assigned 2 more roles in his cabinet. Steven Cheung has been appointed as White House communications director while Sergio Gor will be leading the Presidential Personnel Office, CNN reported. Cheung, who served as director of strategic response during Trump's 1st term, will be serving as assistant to the president & director of communications. Additionally, Karoline Leavitt who served as Trump Campaign Nation Press Secretary will now be the White House Press Secy. Leavitt will replace the 35th White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. Notably, Steven Cheung was also the spokesman for Donald Trump’s election campaign. The position of White House communication director is separate from the White House press secretary and is yet to be announced. Cheung & Agor are the latest in a series of controversial picks by Trump who named over 20 individuals for high-level positions in his admin. Earlier, Trump picked North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum to lead the Department of the Interior. Burgum, who challenged Trump for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, will inherit the Dept from Secretary Deb Haaland. Burgum being the first Native American to serve in a Cabinet position will see US’ public lands, natural resources & Indian affairs. It is noteworthy Donald Trump will assume office on January 2025 replacing Democrat Joe Biden as the 47th US President.
