Agartala (Tripura), August 30(ANI): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on August 29, thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the ‘Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana’ scheme and reducing the price of gas cylinders. Manik Saha said, “On the occasion of ‘Raksha Bandhan’, PM Modi has declared a gift for all the women. The reduction in the price of gas cylinders by Rs 200. Not only that, in ‘Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana’ Rs 400 subsidy has been given. In this scheme, more than 75 lakh connections will be given. On behalf of the people of Tripura, I would like to thank PM Modi.” With an eye on Lok Sabha polls that are slated to be held next year, the Centre announced to reduce the prices of cooking gas by Rs 200 per cylinder. The decision Modi government called it a gift to the ‘sisters’ of the country so as to make the lives of the women in the country comfortable while on the contrary, the Opposition was quick to claim it as a ‘political gimmick’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the reduction in prices of cooking gas cylinders will make the lives of women easier.
