Tripura CM Manik Saha pays tribute to Maharaja Bir Bikram on his 117th Birth Anniversary

Agartala (Tripura), August 19, 2025 (ANI): Tripura Chief Minister attended the 117th birth anniversary celebrations of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur, the last ruling king of the Tripura Kingdom. Known as the architect of modern Tripura, the Maharaja’s contributions to education, infrastructure, and overall development are still highly regarded by the people. The BJP government has honored his legacy, including naming the Agartala International Airport as MBB Airport, among other recognitions. Since 2018, 19th August has been declared a state holiday in his memory. This morning, the Chief Minister paid tribute to the Maharaja’s statue, which was installed a few years ago, commemorating his enduring impact on the state.
