Agartala (Tripura), Nov 4, 2025: (ANI): Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha attended the distribution of yarn under the Chief Minister’s Tribal Women Weavers Development Program. The government and the Tribal Welfare Department, particularly the divisions responsible for sericulture and handloom, actively worked on the development of tribal communities under the Chief Minister’s guidance. Emphasising action over words, the government had launched the Tribal Development Program to preserve and promote traditional weaving crafts across Tripura. The National Development Corporation and the Sericulture Department procured yarn, while the program named after the Chief Minister provided free yarn to weavers, ensuring that their traditional crafts were preserved. The government also supported rural women through bank loans for agriculture and livestock, benefiting nearly 480,000 women participating in self-help groups.
