Srinagar, (J&K), Feb 7, ANI: The cold wave persisted in Srinagar on February 6, causing temperatures to plummet and heavy snowfall in higher areas. Despite the harsh conditions, tourists visiting the picturesque Dal Lake still found enjoyment in the breathtaking scenery and unique experiences the region had to offer. For the local residents, the tourism industry remained a vital source of livelihood. Many locals are dependent on the influx of visitors to support themselves and their families, engaging in various activities such as selling Kashmiri shawls, caps, hand gloves, handloom items, running guesthouses, offering guided tours, or selling handicrafts. As the cold wave endured, the presence of tourists at Dal Lake provided a glimmer of hope, offering a much-needed source of income during the challenging winter months. Despite the challenging weather, the allure of Dal Lake and its surrounding landscapes continued to draw visitors, providing essential support to the local economy and a brief respite from the winter chill.
