Tata Motors launches new Nexon, MD Shailesh Chandra reveals plans amid Gadkari's push for green fuel

New Delhi, September 14: Tata has launched its new Nexon EV with an all-new digital design that puts the human in tech. Since its launch in 2016, Nexon EV has always been the first choice of EV buyers and become the highest-selling electric car in the country. Notably, Centre is also making bold moves to promote zero tailpipe emissions vehicles on the Indian Roads. Earlier, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari emphasised moving towards EVs to help cut emissions. Adding further, he warned automakers to cut production of polluting diesel vehicles or face higher taxes and levies. Meanwhile, Tata has launched a new feature-loaded Nexon as market of SUVs continues to expand in the country. On the other hand, Tata Motors MD Shailesh Chandra’s remark on the launch of the new Tata Nexon EV raised eyebrows. Chandra said that Tata Motors is leading the charge in zero-emission mobility in the country.
