Tableware from pine needles; HIMALAYAN PINE CO pioneers wildfire prevention in Himalayas

Kangra (Himachal Pradesh), April 30 (ANI): In a momentous celebration of environmental stewardship and global collaboration, HIMALAYAN PINE CO proudly hosted the second installment of Global Sustainability Discussion & Awards 2024 on April 29 in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra. Dignitaries from all over the world and different realms graced the event. Ambassador of Denmark to India Freddy Svane was one of the main guests. Television actors Karanvir Bohra and Simple Kaul were also present at the event to support the noble cause. HIMALAYAN PINE CO is committed to preserving the lower ranges of the Himalayas which are prone to widespread forest fires. It undertakes the crucial task of handpicking Pine Needles from the sub-Shivalik forest regions to mitigate the risk of wildfires. Furthermore, Himalayan Pine Co ingeniously repurposes these pine needles in a patent process to create a range of sustainable, plastic-free yet durable tableware, hygiene, and other products. An exhibition of all these sustainable tableware was also held to give a glimpse of all the products. Speaking to ANI, the founder of HIMALAYAN PINE CO Abhinav Talwar said, “I am here to spread the words of mitigate forest fires with the use of Pine needles which causes the fire in the first place and do something about it other than just burning them. We have had a very good run with people in overseas who have the sustainable mindset.” Ambassador of Denmark to India Freddy Svane said, “I think raising awareness among the human beings because we are the ones that are causing these problems across the planet. Wildfires are endangering the lives of not only me and my grandson but also the future generations who will have to cope with the adverse effects of forest fires. Small steps are needed for everything. In this marathon for our nature, a small step is required.”
