Cuttak (Odisha), March 02,2026 (ANI): The Sukapaika River, a significant distributary of Odisha’s lifeline, the Mahanadi River, which was once the lifeline of more than 425 villages, is now flowing again after being rejuvenated. In 1952, following the construction of an embankment for flood control, its natural flow was disrupted, and over time it had shrunk into a seasonal stream. With the commitment and encouragement of the state’s leadership, and through the joint efforts of the district administration, the Water Resources Department, and active public participation, the revival of the Sukapaika has been made possible. Today, the river once again serves as a strong foundation for hope and giving new direction to the region’s development
