Udhampur (J&K), May 9 (ANI): The students of Government Primary School, Dub Duba Basti (Mohalla) in Jakhani, Ward Number 1 of Udhampur, sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s help to address the need for a school building. For the past 20 years, the school has been operated in a cramped single room, lacking essential facilities such as a playground, toilets, and drinking water. Despite ongoing efforts by the government to promote enrollment in government schools, the conditions at this particular school remain a cause for concern. Established in 2004, the school did not get a proper building. Instead, a resident provided the current room where the school is functioning. The students plead for proper infrastructure. The female students have to travel long distances to get washroom facilities. “We ask Prime Minister Modi and local authorities to take swift action and provide us with a proper school building. We want a place where we can study, play, and have access to basic amenities,” said the students with folded hands.
