Srinagar: Devotees throng to Shankaracharya Temple on Maha Shivratri

Srinagar, March 08 (ANI): Devotees from parts of India thronged to Shankaracharya Temple in Srinagar to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva on the occasion of Maha Shivratri. The atmosphere was filled with sounds of devotional songs as devotees performed rituals and offered holy water, milk, and flowers to Lord Shiva. Free foods were distributed outside the temple for the devotees. Maha Shivratri, which translates to ‘the great night of Lord Shiva’, is considered one of the most auspicious festivals in the country. It is celebrated annually with much fervour across the country.
