Savarkar Defamation Case: Court grants RaGa exemption; Warns of action if absent next hearing

Pune (Maharashtra), December 03 (ANI):In the ongoing defamation case against Rahul Gandhi, Vinayak Savarkar’s grand-nephew, Satyaki Savarkar, emphasized the seriousness of the allegations, while Gandhi’s lawyer sought exemption from today’s court appearance. The court has granted a temporary exemption but warned of strict action if he misses the next hearing on January 10th. On Savarkar defamation case, Satyaki Savarkar, grand-nephew of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, says, "On November 18th, the court issued a summons to Rahul Gandhi to be present in court for today's hearing, but due to the winter session of the Parliament, he could not appear before the court... In March 2023, Rahul Gandhi defamed Vinayak Savarkar by saying things which didn't happen in his life... We have taken the defamation very seriously and all followers of Savarkar are with us..." | Pune, Maharashtra: On Savarkar defamation case, Advocate Sangram Kolhatkar says, "This is the third successive date. Before today's date, the court had issued a summons to Rahul Gandhi to appear before the court... Today also, Rahul Gandhi has failed to appear before the court. On behalf of him, his pleader has appeared and he has filed his 'vakalatnama' and prayed for exemption. Temporarily, considering the position of Rahul Gandhi, the court has exempted him. If he fails to appear on the next date, January 10th, then strict action will be taken against him..."
