Vadodara (Gujarat), July 03 (ANI): In a landmark move for grassroots governance, Gujarat will host a grand Sarpanch Sammelan on July 4. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will distribute ₹35 crore in grants to 761 Samaras Gram Panchayats and honor outstanding sarpanches for their leadership. A key highlight is Madhuben Vaghela, Sarpanch of Narpura in Savli Taluka, recognized under the Panchayat Advancement Index for promoting digital governance. Her initiatives include online access to land records, Aadhaar, KYC services, and advancements in sanitation, solar lighting, and education. The Sammelan reflects Gujarat’s commitment to empowering Panchayati Raj institutions and building a self-reliant, modern rural India.
