New Delhi, March 7, 2026 (ANI): Raisina Dialogue 2026 | Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said, "I don't know what prompted the Congress and their coalition of parties to put India under the bus to become a part of RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership). When we talk of RCEP, it was an FTA deal between China and India. I dont know if anyone believes that would have been good for India. It would have been disastrous. After I took charge, I started meeting stakeholders. In earlier trade deals with Japan, ASEAN, before the Modi govt came to power, the Congress party had barely consulted any Indian industry and stakeholders. In 2019, the PM in Bangkok announced RCEP is not good for India and refused to be a part of it."
