“PM rejected them…” MEA reveals how PM Modi refuted Canadian PM Trudeau’s claims on sidelines of G20

New Delhi, Sept 21 (ANI): India-Canada ties have nosedived since PM Justin Trudeau’s “absurd” allegations of India’s involvement in killing of Khalistani leader Hardeep Nijjar. Notably, PM Modi and his Canadian counterpart held talks earlier this month on the sidelines of the G20 Summit. Days later, MEA Spokesperson said Canadian PM talked about these allegations, however, PM Modi rejected them. Moreover, MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi called Canada’s allegations “primarily politically driven”. In the most recent development, India has suspended visa services in Canada till further notice. Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Nijjar was shot dead outside a Gurudwara in Canada’s Surrey in June 2023. He was one of India’s most-wanted terrorists carrying a cash bounty of Rs 10 lakh on his head.
