New Delhi, November 25 (ANI): PM Narendra Modi addressed the ICA Global Cooperative Conference 2024 in New Delhi on November 25. PM Modi said, “This conference is being organised in India for the first time. In India, we are giving new spread to the cooperative movement. This conference will give needful insights into India's future cooperative journey. India's experiences will provide new tools of the 21st century and spirit to the global cooperative movement. For the world, the cooperative is a model, for India, it is a base of culture, a lifestyle. The country and the society which provides more participation to women will grow at that much faster pace. Today, in India, it's a time of women-led development. In India's cooperative sector, women's participation is more than 60%. We are trying to increase the participation of women in the management of cooperatives and for this, we have amended the Multi-State Cooperative Society Act to make it compulsory to have women directors in it.”
