Ludhiana(Punjab)/Amritsar (Punjab)/Chandigarh, January 13 (ANI): As harvest season embarks, people celebrated Lohri in various parts of Punjab on January 13. People in Chandigarh, Ludhiana, and Amritsar celebrated the harvest festival with great pomp and show. Dressed in beautiful traditional attires people gathered around the bonfire for the celebration. They celebrated by singing, dancing, and bursting fire-crackers. Celebrated across North India, particularly in Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi Lohri is a joyous symbol of new energy in life. In addition to celebrating the crop harvest, Lohri marks the end of the winter season. It is celebrated on the eve of Makar Sankranti to mark the conclusion of the winter solstice and the beginning of longer days.
