Srinagar, April 27 (ANI): The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, in collaboration with an NGO, has established an Old Age Home in Srinagar under the Atal Vayo Abhyudaya Yojana (AVYAY) scheme. This initiative aims to provide a secure and comfortable living environment for senior citizens. Equipped with the necessary facilities, the home offers free accommodation and fosters a peaceful and supportive atmosphere for its residents. This initiative reflects the government's dedication to the welfare of senior citizens, demonstrating the AVYAY scheme's commitment to respecting and caring for the elderly. It represents a significant step towards empowering and uplifting the elderly community. The rising population indicates that the number of 60+ in India will increase to 17.3 crore in 2026.
