Bhubaneswar (Odisha), April 05 (ANI): Odisha experienced an intense heatwave, recorded a temperature of 43.5°c on April 05. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning for Odisha, predicting temperatures to soar above 40-45 degrees Celsius in many parts of the state. This prolonged period of extreme heat is expected to persist for the next two days. Citizens were seen covering their faces and using umbrellas to protect themselves while going out in the heat. Speaking to ANI, the official said, “Bhubaneswar city has experienced first time season’s highest temperature of 43.5 °c. The temperature is likely to increase in the interior parts of Odisha too. We have issued an alert for the coastal districts because of the heat wave. We have advised people to not go out in the peak hours from 12 – 3 pm. Authorities should monitor campaign rallies occurring before the election. We have also advised farmers to sprinkle water on their crops to protect them from the heat.”
