Srinagar, September 29 (ANI): Kashmir valley, which was once the favourite destination to shoot films, was affected a great deal due to the unconducive atmosphere of late. Now, a film policy has been introduced by the government in J&K, which is expected to bring back the past glory. The new policy aims to facilitate the shooting of films from the film industries from across the country, as well as boost the film industry and aid local filmmakers in the valley. Under the policy, a film development fund will be created to provide financial assistance to filmmakers, while incentives will be given to production houses that employ local talent, including actors, technicians, and crew members. The policy also includes measures to simplify the process for obtaining filming permits and to promote the region's cultural heritage as a theme for the films. The new policy has been welcomed by local filmmakers and artists who have long been advocating for the development of a robust film industry in the state. The policy will help in the creation of job opportunities and boost the economy of the UT by attracting film tourists.
