Navy Chief Admiral Hari Kumar’s commitment to become ‘Atmanirbhar’ in Defence by 2047

Pune (Maharashtra), Feb 19 (ANI): The manufacturing plant in the Nibe Defence and Aerospace Limited set to be inaugurated on February 19. Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Hari Kumar affirmed that Navy will achieve ‘Atmanirbharta’ in defence till 2047. Speaking to ANI, he said, “A very substantial capability that has been built in a very short time. So this is a tremendous capability towards Atmanirbharta. If you want to make defence equipment in the country, then you need the equipment, the machines. This is a fully automated facility and it will make a substantial difference in the ability to make weapon-grade equipment for ships, airframes, weapon systems on board ships or submarines, torpedo tubes and anything which requires very high precision. We have given a commitment to our national leadership that till 2047, we will become Atma Nirbhar, and for that, we require the help of industry.”
