Months after NSA Ajit Doval’s France visit, India Rafale-M jet deal “at final stages”

New Delhi, December 02 (ANI): The much-awaited Rafale Marine jet deal moves an inch closer to the ‘handshake moment,’ as it is now just one level short of completion. Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, on Dec 2, said, "Since it is a government-to-government deal, it should not take much time. India, France negotiating a deal to buy 26 Rafale Marine jets, which will be deployed on the INS Vikrant aircraft carrier and at various bases. The deal is important for the Indian Navy as it aims to strengthen its maritime strike capability. Earlier in September, France submitted its final price offer to India for the deal ahead of NSA Ajit Doval’s visit to the country. As per the plans, the Indian Navy will acquire 22 single-seater Rafale Marine aircraft along with four trainer aircraft. India is also planning to procure a larger number of long-range Meteor air-to-air missiles and anti-ship weaponry as part of the project
