Lal Chowk in Srinagar, with its iconic clock tower, has been revitalised under the Smart City project, blending tradition with modernity. New footpaths, wider roads, and renovated buildings in traditional Kashmiri style now make it a vibrant hub. At night, the clock tower glows in tricolour, offering a stunning view. Polo View Market, known for Kashmiri shawls and handicrafts, has been transformed into a pedestrian zone, enhancing its appeal as a shopping destination. The Jhelum Riverfront has also been upgraded, with pathways, benches, and lighting, making it a serene spot for visitors. Electric buses now reduce pollution, modernising Srinagar while preserving its cultural charm.
