Mission Madhumakhi is revolutionizing beekeeping in Gujarat by providing farmers with financial aid, modern equipment, and specialized training. Launched in 2022-23 by the Horticulture Department, the initiative has enrolled 284 farmers from Anand, Kheda, and Mahisagar, producing 16,000 kg of honey. Amul Dairy has established a processing unit, facilitating large-scale production. Additionally, the initiative supports animal husbandry farmers, expanding market reach. With its success, Gujarat is emerging as a honey production hub, boosting rural livelihoods and agricultural sustainability.
