Srinagar, Jan 31 (ANI): Syed Sajad Parvaiz, an entrepreneur from Kupwara, has made a significant contribution to the region's aquaculture industry by establishing the first-ever trout feed mill under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY). This project, valued at ₹30 Lakh, has received a subsidy of ₹12 Lakh, marking a major milestone in the region’s efforts to boost fish farming and improve the livelihoods of local fish farmers. This initiative, which is a part of a national scheme to promote sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, aims to boost fish production, create employment opportunities, and support the growth of the fish farming sector. The trout feed mill is set to play a pivotal role in enhancing the local aquaculture industry, especially in a region like Kupwara, known for its natural resources and pristine water bodies. This project not only reduce dependency on imported feed but also improve the overall health and productivity of fish farms in the area.
