These newspapers are vital to local communities, preserving culture and fostering social harmony. They boldly report issues, raise public concerns, and expose system flaws. Published in local languages, their broad reach strengthens community ties. Papers like The Tamenglong Times also play a key role in promoting communal peace and cohesion. In a strong democracy, the press speaks the truth, asks tough questions, and holds power to account. In Manipur, the press continues to fulfil this role with resilience and impact.
