MCD demolishes encroachment near Faiz-e-Elahi Masjid in Delhi, miscreants resort to stone pelting

Description: Municipal Corporation of Delhi carried out a demolition drive at the encroached area near Faiz-e-Elahi Masjid near Ramlila Maidan on Jan 7. Authorities brought in around 17 bulldozers to remove the unauthorised structures in the area, pursuant to the directions of Delhi HC. Prior to the demolition drive, several coordination meetings were held with members of the Aman Committee. However, according to officials, a few miscreants attempted to create disturbance by stone pelting. The situation was promptly brought under control using measured and minimal use of force as per the police. A team of police personnel were present at the site and route diversions were implemented to ensure smooth traffic flow
