Massive fire breaks out in Tirshi-Bali area of Udhampur, efforts to douse fire on

Udhampur (J&K), June 16 (ANI): A devastating fire erupted in Compartment number 61 of Tirshi-Bali area, under the Udhampur Forest Division. The inferno has caused immense damage to the region's wildlife and vegetation, with a vast number of trees and plants reduced to ashes. Tirshi-Bali forest area is home to a significant population of peacocks, and other wild birds and animals. Meanwhile efforts are on to douse the fire. Speaking on the incident, Divisional Forest Officer, Udhampur, Navneet Singh said, “Due to dry weather and scorching heat daily five forest fires are being reported…efforts are on to control the forest fire… I appeal to locals to avoid burning fields as wind can easily carry sparks, potentially igniting larger fires…”
