New Delhi, August 8 (ANI): Former PM Manmohan Singh came to the Parliament to participate in the crucial Rajya Sabha session on August 07. The Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023 was being discussed. 90-year-old former PM Manmohan Singh was seen sitting on a wheelchair in the Parliament. The Congress party has issued a three-line whip for its MPs, urging them to be present in the Rajya Sabha. Home Minister Amit Shah moved the GNCT of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023, for passage in the House. The Bill was passed after a division in which 131 MPs voted in favour of the legislation and 102 against it. The Opposition members moved a resolution disapproving the ordinance brought by the government in May this year. The bill empowers the Central Government to make rules in connection with the affairs of the Government of the NCT of Delhi. Amit Shah also lashed out at Congress, reminding that the government was not making amendments to impose “Emergency”.
