Churachandpur (Manipur), 31 July, ANI: CRPF Inspector Jeffrey Hmingchullo received a rousing welcome from his family and fellow villagers upon his return to Churachandpur. On May 22, he was conferred with the prestigious Shaurya Chakra by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan for his extraordinary courage during a fierce anti-Maoist operation in Jharkhand’s Chatra district, where he bravely eliminated two Maoists and safeguarded his team. A special felicitation ceremony was later held by the Hmar Youth Association (HYA), where applause, cheers, and slogans filled the air. It wasn’t just a homecoming — it was a tribute to valour, reflecting the pride of the entire region in one of its brave sons. Behind the uniform and the medal lies a mother’s quiet strength and heartfelt gratitude — a reminder that every hero's journey begins with a parent’s unwavering support and silent prayers. A large number of people from the Kuki-dominated Churachandpur district of Manipur have been serving with dedication in the Indian armed forces, making significant contributions to the nation’s security. CRPF Inspector Jeffrey Hmingchullo is a shining example not just a name, but an inspiration reflecting how the youth of Manipur are playing an active role in safeguarding the unity and integrity of the country.
