Manipur residents hail arms recovery as step toward peace

Imphal/Churachandpur (Manipur), 15 June ANI : Residents across Manipur have hailed the seizure of a vast cache of arms as a crucial step toward restoring peace and public safety in the state. In a coordinated operation on the night of June 13–14, security forces—including the Manipur Police, CAPF, Indian Army, and Assam Rifles—acted on precise intelligence on the outskirts of five valley districts. They recovered a total of 328 weapons: 151 SLR rifles, 65 INSAS rifles, 73 other rifles, 5 carbine guns, and 2 MP-5 submachine guns, along with explosives and other warlike stores. People in Manipur are hopeful that such measures will bring long-awaited stability and reduce regional tensions in Manipur.
