Karachi (Pakistan) October 07 (ANI): One person was killed, and 10 were injured in an explosion near Pakistan’s Karachi Airport on October 6. The nature of the blast was not immediately clear; Geo News cited a provincial official's statement, according to Reuters. The Balochistan Liberation Army took responsibility for the attack in a statement emailed to journalists, reported Reuters. BLA claimed that the attack was carried out using vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices targeting Chinese nationals. Notably, it launched coordinated attacks in the province, killing more than 70 people in August.The BLA seeks independence for the province of Balochistan, located in Pakistan's southwest and bordering Afghanistan, Iran. The BLA specifically targets Chinese interests in the strategic port of Gwadar, accusing Beijing of helping Islamabad exploit the province. It has killed numerous Chinese citizens working in the region and attacked Beijing's consulate in Karachi.
