Madhavpur Mela preps in Full Swing, Gujarat and Northeast Artists set to dazzle

Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Mar 30 (ANI): Madhavpur, a scenic coastal village in Gujarat, is steeped in history and mythology. It is believed to be the site where Hindu God, Lord Krishna married Rukmini from northeast India's Arunachal Pradesh, a legend celebrated annually through the grand Madhavpur Mela. The 2025 fair, set for April 6-10, promises to be the most spectacular yet as preparations are in full swing. 1,600 artists—800 from Gujarat, 800 from Northeast India—are rehearsing at Sanand Flamingo Resort before performing in various cities ahead of the grand event in Porbandar. The fair will feature folk dances, music, and cultural showcases. Organized by Gujarat's Department of Youth Services & Cultural Activities and Gujarat Tourism, the fair serves as a cultural bridge, strengthening ties between Gujarat and Northeast India. With traditional art, storytelling, and spiritual performances, it aims to offer a deep dive into India's rich heritage. The Gujarat government has taken major steps to make this year's event an unforgettable spectacle. With its stunning coastline and vibrant festivities, Madhavpur Mela remains a historical and cultural attraction. The 2025 fair promises to be a spectacular showcase of India's diverse heritage.
