New Delhi, Aug 07 (ANI): Lok Sabha Secretariat restored the membership of Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi on August 07. The Congress leader, who was disqualified from the Lower House in March 2023, was reinstated as Wayanad MP. The decision came after Supreme Court on August 4 stayed his conviction in the ‘Modi’ surname remark case. Soon after the restoration, celebrations started outside 10 Janpath in Delhi. Leaders of ‘INDIA’ alliance also celebrated the restoration of Lok Sabha membership of Congress leader. Earlier, while granting relief to Rahul Gandhi, Supreme Court said that the ramifications of the trial court’s order are wide. However, SC said that Rahul Gandhi’s utterances are not in good taste and is expected to exercise caution while making public speeches.
