Imphal (Manipur), 26 July, ANI: In the border villages of Waroiching and Khamong, nestled between Manipur’s Imphal West and Kangpokpi districts, the quiet hum of life has returned to the fields. Since the ethnic violence of May 3, 2023, farming here had come to a standstill amid fears of renewed clashes. But now, under the vigilant watch of security forces — particularly the 33 Assam Rifles — agricultural activity is cautiously resuming. From early morning to late afternoon, farmers from both the Kuki and Meitei communities till their adjoining lands under tight protection. It’s a fragile yet heartening rhythm of coexistence — where the plough moves forward once again, guided by hope and guarded by peace. A striking feature of the area is that fields of both communities lie side by side, with security forces positioned right in between — a powerful symbol of guarded harmony. Despite the scars of past tensions, this scene speaks volumes: people are choosing peace, cooperation, and a return to normalcy — one furrow at a time. This quiet revival of farming, under the watchful eyes of security, offers more than just livelihood — it plants seeds of peace and unity. In Manipur’s once-divided fields, hope is growing again — one shared harvest at a time.
