Lakshadweep vs Maldives| Akshay, Sachin and top personalities urge to explore Indian islands

New Delhi, Jan 07 (ANI): PM Modi’s visit to India’s beach heaven Lakshadweep has hogged the limelight since PM’s post on social media went viral. Later, Lakshadweep and Narendra Modi became the 10th most searched word on Google in India. However, the Union Territory’s soaring popularity became the ‘apple of discord’ for Maldives MP Zahid Rameez. Maldives MP Zahid Rameez sparked furore by claiming that India’s idea of competing with Maldives is “delusional”. Soon after the MP’s tweet, netizens trolled Zahid Rameez and triggered a meme fest to lambast politician. Now, famous Indian personalities have come forward and reacted sharply to politician’s remarks. Taking to ‘X’ handle, actor Akshay Kumar asked citizens why should Indians tolerate such unprovoked hate. With Bharat’s “Atithi Devo Bhava” philosophy, ‘Bharat Ratna’ Sachin Tendulkar urged people to explore Indian islands. Lauding India’s hospitality, ‘Bollywood Hunk’ John Abraham asked people to explore the vast marine life at Lakshadweep. Lakshadweep is situated just north of the Maldives, 400 kilometers west of mainland India. For the tourists, who wish to explore their adventurer side, Lakshadweep has to be on their list.
